Bridge to the New Year--A letter to my future self

A letter to my future self December 2023

Dear Amanda,

Over the last five years you have done a lot to grow personally and professionally. Hopefully by now you are married and maybe even have a kid or two (hopefully at least one by now). You have watched yourself grow your Avon business for over 10 years and hopefully by now you are at a higher leadership level and steadily growing your team and your sales. By now you also will have dedicated 10 years to growing your online presence so hopefully that is at higher results as well. You will be turning 35 in April so hopefully you are where you want to be and seeing results as you grow.

Sincerely,

Amanda December 2018, Age 29

Bridge to the New Year--Causes

What Causes Did I support in 2018?

In 2018, I supported the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. This year, Avon announced they were partnering with the American Cancer Society as the National Sponsor for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk which raises money for Breast Cancer research, patient support programs, etc. This partnership led me to register for my local walk with some fellow Avon Representatives and we worked to raise money for the cause. As a woman, this is something that I was passionate about because we all can be affected by Breast Cancer and even though I haven't been directly affected by Breast Cancer, I have been affected by other forms of cancer with family members. Anything we can do to stop cancer is good.

Bridge to the New Year--Endings and New Beginnings

Endings and New Beginnings

What was something that ended in 2018?
This year I said goodbye to my childhood room as I knew it. I moved out permanently in 2013, but for the last five years my childhood room has been kept pretty much the same. In June, my brother decided to move to Florida. So, at the end of this summer my family decided to turn my old room into a guest room of sorts and as a result we cleaned out a lot from that room throwing a lot of things away. While I still have some things stored at my parents it is nothing like what it was when I would come home and still see my room as I left it and as it had been since the time I was 13. Now most of my stuff is stored in the attic and no longer in the room itself. I had to let go of that piece that was linking me to my childhood.
What is something you are prepared to let go of in 2019?
In 2019, I know I need to do some general organizing so I am prepared to let go of things that I know I no longer need. My closet, in particular, needs a real overall. LOL.

Bridge to the New Year -- 2018 Gratitude

Gratitude

This year I am thankful for how my Avon business has grown. I reached so many milestones this year and was recognized by Avon for so much. I am thankful for my customers, team members, and sister and brother Avon Representatives. I am thankful to be a part of a company that has supported women and men for over 130 years! The company truly wants to provide quality products for us to promote. I love Avon not just because I sell it, but because I truly love the products!

In 2019, I think I will make a gratitude jar and write down things that I am thankful for every week so that at the end of 2019 I can look back on all I was thankful for throughout the year.

Bridge to the New Year 2019 Day 3 Goals for the end of 2018

Bridge to 2019 Day 3

What is something you want to achieve before 2018 ends?

I had two goals in my Avon business for 2018. The first was to reach our top seller level (which I have achieved). The second was to get higher in our leadership ranks. So, my goal for the end of the year is to grow my team to the next level. I enjoy helping others to start their own business and grow! It's the teacher in me that enjoys helping other representatives.

Bridge to the New Year 2019-Day 2-Words

Day 2-What was your word for 2018? What is your word for 2019?

For 2018, I would have to say my word this year has been persistence. Through persistence, I have been able to reach some goals for the year. If it wasn't for this persistence, I wouldn't have kept moving forward towards the end goal.

For 2019, I am picking Focus as my word. Focus on what is important, focus on my goals and reaching them, and stay focused to get things done that I need to get done.
