30 Day Beauty Challenge Days 21-30

30 Day Beauty Challenge Days 21-30

Hello everyone! Back in August I started a 30 Day Beauty Challenge that I found online. I am going to divide up the challenge posts into three posts Days 1-10, Days 11-20, and Days 21-30. I will be sharing what I shared on Social Media as my answers for the 30 day challenge. I just found this challenge so feel free to do it yourself.

Day 21: Favorite Nail Polish

My favorite nail polish is Avon Gel Finish 7-in-1 Nail Enamel. Here is the Lavender Sky color.

Day 22: Least Favorite Product

As much as I LOVE Avon, there is one product that I really don't like that I will use in a pinch but do not regularly use. That product is our Roll-On Deodorants. I just don't like liquid roll-on deodorants as I find them sticky and I prefer bar deodorants.

Day 23: Eyeshadow

The Avon True Color 8-in-1 Eyeshadow palette in Smoky Nights was featured on Season 16 of Project Runway!

Day 24: Eye Liner

Glimmersticks are our most popular eye liners. They come in a variety of colors so you are sure to find one that you like.

Day 25: Brows

Define, fill & set your Brows with the Avon True Color Perfect Eyebrow Styling Duo. This powder and wax set colors in brows and provides shape and hold. Eyebrows look defined and perfectly groomed.

Day 26: Favorite Body Product

One of my favorite Bath and Body Products is Avon Senses Bubble Bath! One of my favorite scents is the Lavender.

Day 27: What do you carry in your handbag?

I typically just carry the basics. Wallet, cell phone, keys. I also have a lip balm and hand cream. I don't really carry any other beauty products with me. lol.

Day 28: Lip Care

Our Moisture Therapy Lip Balm is a must have product. It will keep your lips from getting dry and chapped. Flavor and fragrance free. Made in the USA.

Day 29: Hair Tools

I tend to just use a hair brush. Avon offers some great hair care products including shampoo, conditioner, and treatments as well as a couple of hair brushes.

Day 30: Makeup Collection

I have mostly lipsticks, eyeshadow, and mascara.

30 Day Beauty Challenge Days 11-20

Hello everyone! Back in August I started a 30 Day Beauty Challenge that I found online. I am going to divide up the challenge posts into three posts Days 1-10, Days 11-20, and Days 21-30. I will be sharing what I shared on Social Media as my answers for the 30 day challenge. I just found this challenge so feel free to do it yourself.

Day 11: Share your favorite hair care products

I'm a simple shampoo and conditioner kind of girl. I, of course, use Avon everything and I like how my hair has responded to the Advance Techniques line Avon offers.

Day 12: Share a night makeup look

Here's the products I used: Face-- Avon MagiX Face Perfector, Avon True Color Flawless Concealer Stick, Avon Smooth Minerals Blush in Blushing Mauve  Eyes--Avon True Color Eyeshadow Primer, Avon True Color Kohl Eye Liner in True Black, Avon Big & Daring Volume Mascara in Blackest Black, Mark. Hook Up Eyeshadow Eye Contact Havana Sol Palette (limited edition item) Lips-- Avon True Color Lipstick in Red 2000.

Day 13: Perfume

One of my favorite scents is Avon Haiku Kyoto Flower Notes of violet leaves, white peony, and cotton musk. I love floral scents!

Day 14: Favorite Product

One of my favorite Avon Jewelry sets The Leaf Me Breathless collection! Available in Goldtone and Silvertone. Hand harvested leaves dipped in metal.

Day 15: Mascara

One of my favorite Mascara's is the Avon True Color SuperExtend Winged Out Mascara which lengthens and lifts your lashes with a feather-inspired brush. Comes in Blackest Black, Black, and Brown Black. Wears for 10 hours. Clump and flake proof. Hypoallergenic. Customers rate it 4 out of 5 stars!

Day 16: Moisturizer

One of my favorite body moisturizing products is Avon Skin So Soft Gelled Body Oil in the Soft and Sensual Scent. I love how it goes on especially after shaving my legs. It isn't greasy and it makes your skin feel soft and moisturized.

Day 17: No Makeup Look

Here is a picture of me without any makeup.

Day 18: Hand Cream

A go to hand cream is Avon Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing and Repair. Fragrance Free. Perfect for everyone!

Day 19: Blush

My go to blush on the rare occasion I actually wear it is Avon Smooth Minerals blush in Blushing Mauve.

Day 20: Concealer

I love the Avon True Color Flawless Concealer Stick

Stay tuned to this blog for Part 3 (Days 21-30) of the 30 Day Beauty Challenge. Thanks for reading!

30 Day Beauty Challenge Days 1-10

Hello everyone! Back in August I started a 30 Day Beauty Challenge that I found online. I am going to divide up the challenge posts into three posts Days 1-10, Days 11-20, and Days 21-30. I will be sharing what I shared on Social Media as my answers for the 30 day challenge. I just found this challenge so feel free to do it yourself.

Day 1: Share your favorite lipstick

One of my favorite lipsticks in the Avon True Color Ultra Hydrating Lip Color in Red Tulip. I am wearing that color in the picture to the left.

Day 2: Share an every day makeup look

My usual during the work week is Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Mocha Latte and Avon Beyond Color Lip Conditioner and then sometimes adding the Avon Beyond Color Lipstick in Pucker Up for a bit of color.

Day 3: Nails

Here is one of my favorite polishes. Avon 7-in-1 Gel Finish nail enamel in Lavender Sky color.

Day 4: Hairstyle

Here is my hair from my senior prom that was in 2007.

Day 5: Share a Day Makeup Look

This look could be night or day. Usually during the day, I wear a less bold lipstick and at night I like to wear bolder lipsticks.

Day 6: Makeup Brushes

I have just the basic brushes and they are from Avon of course!

Day 7: Skin Care

Here are just some of my staples from Avon Anew. Avon Anew AHA Cream, Avon Anew Retexturizing Peel and the Extra Strength Peel, Avon Anew Clinical Hydration Mask, and Avon Anew Dark Circle Corrector (under eye cream).

Days 8 & 9: Holy Grail of Makeup Products and Makeup Storage

Day 8: Holy Grail of Makeup Products
I love the Avon True Color line of makeup. Eyeshadow, Eye Liner, Lipstick, Mascara, Foundation, Powder, Concealer, and Primer. Our True Color Line has it all and it's all true to the color that you see in the package.

Day 9: Makeup Storage
I love this container I got from Avon a couple years back.

Day 10: Foundation

Day 10 is Foundation. I don't often wear foundation but when I do I wear powder foundation because it doesn't clog my pores as bad as liquid foundation used to. This is a discontinued Avon foundation but Avon does offer liquid, cream to powder, and powder foundations.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day 2017

Hello everyone! It's been a hot minute since I wrote on this Blog! I just wanted to come on and tell everybody, Happy Mother's Day! Today my brother treated my mom and I to a wonderful buffet lunch and dessert at a beautiful Italian restaurant and we were able to eat outside in the wonderful spring weather! I also spent some time with my grandmother whom I haven't seen in awhile to wish her a wonderful day as well. The video below is from Mother's Day last year (2016) and in the video I discuss honoring my mother and what we did to celebrate last year (went out to lunch for Mexican). I never shared the video last year so decided I'd pop on and share it today. Hope you had a wonderful day today and every day! Enjoy! My thoughts on the Vampire Diaries Finale and The Originals New Season 2017 (WARNING Spoilers Included)

A couple of weeks ago, we said farewell to The Vampire Diaries. At this point, I'm thinking most fans have already watched the episode so I think it's safe to talk about it. So here are my thoughts. I really got frustrated with the final season. I wasn't big on The Sirens and I was frustrated they kept breaking apart Caroline and Stefan. Then, when it was revealed that Nina Dobrev would be Katherine in the last couple episodes for most of the time and not Elena I was a little frustrated about that at well. That being said, in the end I think I am pretty happy with how it all ended. They all found peace. Was it weird how the ending ending was? Yes, but my take is that they lived a happy life and then they all found peace instead of going to hell when they grew old and died. I was sort of mad when it was revealed that Stefan died to kill Katherine leaving Caroline alone, but then we were given hope for Caroline when Matt says at the end of The Vampire Diaries series finale how Klaus donated to her school and there was another story to be told. Did I hate Klaus and Caroline together? Yes, but if this means there can be hope for her character, I am all for it. That leads me to The Originals premiere. Such a great episode, especially airing one week after we say goodbye to The Vampire Diaries. I am glad The Originals decided to catch up the timeline and fast forward five years. Now that we have seen the older Hope and a new witch child was revealed, I hope this is a sign that we will get "the story" Matt was talking about at the end of TVD and Caroline's school will be where Klaus decides Hope needs to learn her magic. It has already been confirmed that Alaric will show up this season on The Originals to tell Klaus about the school (hence his sending the donation letter to Caroline we see in the TVD finale). I think it would be great to see the kids interacting with each other (Alaric's daughters, Hope, and the new witch child that was revealed in The Originals premiere). The second episode of this season of The Originals wasn't as exciting but I am glad Haley was able to get all of the siblings back together and safely to her home with Hope and I look forward to seeing where it will all lead.

Honoring Women in My Past: My preschool teacher

My preschool teacher Ms. B was an amazing lady. I don't remember so much about her, but she instilled a love of learning in me that would last a lifetime! Now that I have taught early childhood education myself, I know how important a preschool teacher can really be to a child. These teachers have a huge role in the way children approach learning from an early age. I know her job couldn't have been easy either especially when it came time to teach my brother.

Here is a short video I did in May 2016 sharing some thoughts about this teacher:

March Periscope Goals and February 2017 Results

February 2017 Results:

Please note, the reason the follower count went down was because Periscope did a huge purge to get rid of spam and robot accounts and it took my follower count way down. My goal was 900 followers. This changed once the purge happened. I still gained about 20 followers which is my monthly average. I gained 79,014 hearts for the month. Still celebrating small successes.

March 2017 Goals:

For March, I have launched a new Periscope account for my teaching related scopes. My goal for that account is to get to 10 followers and just get as many hearts as I can on the account. For my regular account I would like to get to 750 followers. On that account I am not really worried about hearts at this time.

Why Livestream?

Livestreaming is growing and many businesses and individuals are using it to get themselves out there. People love seeing you Live and being able to interact with you live. It's all about sharing YOU and what you are about while also giving people the opportunity to ask questions and interact with you LIVE without actually being in person. If you are trying to brand yourself and grow your online following, you definitely should consider jumping on the LiveStream bandwagon with apps like Periscope and Facebook Live.

Women in my Past

March is Women's History month. During the month of March, I am going to try to blog some about Women's History and women in my history. I am going to start this off by talking about some women in my past. First, I would like to mention my Grandma Campbell. She was definitely an important woman of my past. She used to do things with my brother and I when we were growing up. My parents relied on her for child care during the summer and also some when they had things to do. I also went to her house after school during my ninth grade year so I wouldn't have to go home and be alone. She would cook for us and teach us. She also helped me with homework the year I went to her house after school. She was like a second mother to us. She also LOVED history and I think her love of history was passed on to me. I think she would appreciate that I wanted to share some about Women's History with my readers. Second, I would like to mention that I have had some influential female teachers in my school career. These women brought me to be the teacher that I am today. Some of them definitely stick out in my mind. Teachers from my preschool teacher to my post graduate college professor. I will not mention their names in this post, but I will say that I am thankful to these women and I value their commitment to the profession of teaching as I know how rewarding and difficult being a teacher can be being that I am now a teacher myself. Below is a video I did last May (May 2016) sharing about these influential women in my life.

Livestreaming Periscope Goals January 2017

I am so excited about my growth on Periscope over the last year (see image below). This month, I have been challenged to Scope every day in the month of January. I have missed a few days, but I am still pushing on with the goal to get to at least 900 followers. In January 2016, I grew by 74 followers and almost 125, 000 hearts. The hearts are like "likes" and show that your viewers like what they are seeing. From January 2016 to January 2017 I grew by 472 followers and 1,739,042 hearts! That is SUPER amazing! I attribute this growth to continuous scoping efforts, joining groups of Periscopers, taking on scoping challenges, and support from current followers. So excited for the growth to come in 2017!

How do you plan your weekly goals?

In the video below I discuss planning your weekly goals:

For more videos like this, you can follow me on Periscope @amandabeautytip .

How do you plan your weekly goals?

  • Planning? Are you kidding? I don't plan anything...
  • Sticky notes
  • Calendar
  • Electronic Calendar
  • App
  • Planner
  • Electronic Planner
  • Paper
There are lots of ways to decide what you need to get done in a given day, week, month, year and lots of ways to break down those goals. It's important to remember that setting time aside to get things done and writing things down helps to hold you accountable and makes it easier to get things done.

  • Blog 2-3 times a week with the goal to get about 10 posts per month which would equal 120 for the year.
  • Put myself out there more as an educator
  • Share more about my direct sales businesses on this blog (about twice a month...once a month for each).
  • Catch up on content that never got posted in 2016
  • Write in my handwritten journal regularly

  4. Not reaching the sales goals I wanted to for Kitcheneez
  5. Deciding to give up my third Direct Sales business

  10. The end of Bones (same as number 9 I realize the actual final season is airing in 2017 but it was canceled in 2016)
On number 9 and number 10, I am just glad both series are given the opportunity to wrap it up as best they can.

3 Game Changers...

  1. Moving into the one year old class before I left my one job to take the Private Kindergarten one

  1. Have fun! Yes, I did have some fun, but I definitely could have budgeted out more time for fun.
  2. Reading...definitely didn't read enough in 2016
  3. Days of Our Lives...I used to watch the show religiously. The forgetting actually started at the end of 2015 and I got way behind. When I moved I was about 3 months behind so I had to read what happened and for the first time in many many years I missed a huge chunk of episodes. I am still a couple months behind going into 2017 looking to catch up.

Reflection.

In 2017, I plan to focus on growing my direct sales businesses. I plan to do better with Blogging. I plan to continue to use Live Streaming to grow my online presence. I plan to exercise more. I will focus on being successful. I am taking what I learned in 2016 and applying it in 2017.

Happy New Year! What are your reflections on 2016? What are you taking into 2017?
