30 Days of Thankful 2016 Day 20 and Daily Gratitude
Today I am thankful for J.K. Rowling! I watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them today with my mom and it definitely brought back the LOVE of Harry Potter for me. Seriously, there will never be another series that is so easy to get into as Harry Potter for me. I am excited to see where the sequel movies go with this new direction of the Harry Potter prequel! Such a wonderful idea to extend the series!

Happy Easter 2016!
Happy Easter everyone! I hope you enjoyed your time with friends and family and loved ones today. I had an early dinner with my mom and brother and spent some time with my dad as well. The food was wonderful as always since my mom cooked. We had turkey, stuffing/dressing, mac and cheese, green beans, and rolls. It was super yummy and of course I took leftovers.
Growing up my brother and I always had an Easter basket like the one in the picture and this year we still had one to share at 26 (almost 27) and 24. We also usually did egg hunts and decorated eggs every year.
I did go to church today as well. My family usually would go to church on Easter growing up too. I was raised in a Christian family and still identify with the faith so it is important to remember what Easter is really about the sacrifice. The main thing I have always enjoyed about Easter is the family time.

Road Trip to celebrate VA History...
If you live in VA you may have noticed the historical marker signs around the state like the one pictured above. The one in this picture is actually for an ancestor of mine Mary Draper Ingles and is featured at the duck pond at VA Tech. Throughout the years, I have noticed other signs around the state as well including in my hometown just outside of Richmond. It has been my dream for awhile to take a road trip around the state stopping at as many of these signs as possible and taking a picture while visiting the area. I love to visit historical places and Virginia has a lot of these places to visit. In my 27 years (almost) I still have not seen even a quarter of what VA has to offer. Hopefully one day I will be able to take this road trip around my home state.

My Favorite Restaurants
This was a replay from back in September 2015. It is crazy how much I have grown since starting on Periscope. This was a PeriGirls Daily Assignment topic to share some of your favorite restaurants. Most of the places I mentioned were "chain" restaurants that have locations around the United States.
Usually when I go out to eat, I tend to go to some of the same places. I also tend to go for American food (steak, burgers) that kind of thing. I do every once in awhile feel like going out for Mexican or Italian food.
The favorite local restaurant I mentioned was Capital Ale House which is well known in the RVA (Richmond, VA) area. There are three locations in the area. My favorite dish to eat there is their french fries with dips made out of mayo. That is an appetizer. As far as main dishes, I usually get a sandwich or a burger and sometimes a steak.

What would I like to learn how to do?...Snow Skiing and Tubing
Each day the PeriGirls Periscope group gives you a daily assignment to scope about on Periscope. Today's assignment was to discuss what I would like to learn and I chose to discuss Snow Skiing and Tubing. Why would I want to do these activities? My parents went snow skiing pre-children and I have seen pictures and it looks fun. I also have friends that have gone and told me how fun it was when they went. I used to go water skiing when I was younger and that was a lot of fun so I think I could definitely snow ski if I was to learn properly and go to the right place. There are several ski resorts in both Virginia and West Virginia nearby so maybe one day I will learn. :-)

Thanksgiving Plans
What are your plans for the Thanksgiving holiday? I will be spending the time with loved ones. What are your family traditions?
Growing up, I would help my mom in the kitchen to cook the desserts and side dishes that she would make for the dinner while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. My mom usually makes cranberry salad and then a pie or two. She also used to make Macaroni and Cheese and still does make Green Bean Casserole and the dressing. When I was growing up we would go have lunch with my uncles and mom's mom and then we would have dinner at my dad's parents house. Now I am down to one grandparent (my dad's mom) so the past few years we have just had dinner at her house with my dad's family.
Last year marked the first year I woke up away from home on Thanksgiving morning, I watched a bit of the parade and then I went home for the day and still helped just a bit in the kitchen.
This year, I know I will be spending time with family but have not figured out my exact plans yet.
Here is a video I did where I share my Thanksgiving Plans on Periscope:
